I worked in the defence and security area for more than thirty years,
in the service of two governments as well as in think-tanks and
international organisations. I retired early at the end of 2008, to
concentrate on academic work, which had started as a hobby, but was by
then threatening
to take over my life.
I'm now an independent author, lecturer, translator and consultant
based in France. This website is essentially a collection of my writings
on various subjects, and it began as a reaction to the many requests I
got after giving lectures for copies of things I had written. As a result of a number of more recent requests, I have started to add a collection of videos.
